Our Weekend, In Brief

I took Anya skating on Saturday, and am happy to report no broken bones, sprained ankles, or other calamities. Just a lot of whining. Sigh. We had fun though. Anya wanted me to hold both her hands and essentially hold her up while I skated. Um. No. She's slowly getting the hang of it. She even let go of the wall for a few minutes.

Yesterday we decided on the spur of the moment to go shopping in Sudbury. Children's Place was having a great sale, and I ended up spending too much money. All in a good cause though. I got a beautiful winter jacket for Anya next year, and a whole whack of really cute shirts, and some really fuzzy housecoats for all three girls.

We had a nice visit with Poppa at the mall, Jake, Jennifer and family showed up, and then we trooped back to J&J's house for a home cooked Chinese food dinner. Yum. I really loved the banana wontons. I might try making those again.

We will probably regret the trip tonight, as Anya was dead tired, and we didn't get on the road last night until 8. So much for our getting her to bed early. We'll just have to cart her off to bed as quick as we can after dinner.

I still remember my fist trip out skating with the fam. I'm pretty sure all we did was complain how cold it was and that we had to pee :) I even have to pics to prove how cold it was!!! My whole head was wrapped in a big woolen scarf!

Oh..and how do you expect a newbie to skate on an outdoor rink covered in snow....quite impossible :)
