Birthday / Flight of the Conchords

Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes everyone. I had a nice birthday supper out and a movie on Saturday with my dear hubby. Sheena volunteered to babysit -- yay! We had gnocchi and warm goat cheese salad at Churchill's, then we went to a late showing of Indiana Jones. It was a nice, kid free evening. Ahhh.

For a birthday present, DH got me the first season of "Flight of the Conchords" which is a tv show I had never heard of before this month. I highly recommend it -- they're pretty funny. It's kind of like "The Arrogant Worms" meets "The Office". Sort of. It's about two New Zealand guys who have a band that come to New York to make it big. So far they have a pretty pathetic band manager, (he's the one that reminds me of the manager on the Office) and one fan. Their lives are pretty pathetic, but every so often they break into dreamlike song. I'm doing a horrible job of explaining it.

Just go check out Youtube: "The Humans are Dead"

Also check out "Foux Da Fa Fa", if you have time. And "Hip-hop-a-potamus/Rhyme-nocerous". Oh, just ask me to borrow the DVD. When I'm done with it. :)

Cool! I totally want that DVD! They are so funny. I've only seen their songs on YouTube though, not the actual show. Look for "Business Time" and "Jenny".

Ooo, how could I forget "Business Time"? I'll have to go check out "Jenny"...
