Schingles and School
Good morning! It's been a beautiful weekend so far, and it looks like it's going to be nice again today. Hooray! An entire weekend without the four letter "r" word. Who can believe it?
We're taking advantage of the nice weather to roof the garage. Not a fun job. BJ worked all yesterday to sling shingles and put up the tar paper, (I carried the hose) and today he'll put the shingles on. We got an awesome deal on shingles because the packages were open... $10 a flat instead of $20. Nice. The price of shingles is apparently going way up because of the increase in gas prices. Asphalt is kind of the "leftovers" after crude oil is processed, and the refineries are starting to squeeze every last drop of the good stuff out of it before selling the asphalt. So not only is it more expensive, but there's less of it. Great. Can you say "road costs going skyhigh"? We'll have to pave the streets with gold; it'll be cheaper.
Anya starts school in a couple weeks, and she's very excited. Me too. Wow. School. I can't believe it. She's going Mondays and Wednesdays, and alternate Fridays. Her bus stop is across the street, and picks her up at 8am, so it'll be easy for us to get her all ready and send her off before going to work. After school she'll go straight to Chantelle's. It makes for a long day for her. I'm foreseeing some adjusting to new schedules will have to be made.

Wow. School. Hard to believe! It makes me have butterflies in my tummy. Does she have a knap-sack? A lunch box? Pencils? A cute little outfit for the first day? Wheeee!
